The latest collection, launched in 2023, is a celebration of African fashion with a focus on blending Namibia’s rich cultural heritage into contemporary style for the new generation. NAFIKA is all about custom-designed clothing and accessories tailored to fit your unique body and style, created with a strong emphasis on African-inspired prints and headwraps. The centerpiece of her collection showcases a traditional green Shweshwe print, a fabric widely used in Southern African countries. In addition, CBK collaborated with Namutse Fabrics and Creatives to incorporate other traditional prints, further honoring Africa’s vibrant textile heritage. This collection embodies the fusion of cultural tradition with modern design, making it a statement of both style and identity. During the creation of this collection, I not only modeled for Kim but also took on the role of editor for the photoshoot.

When the design process for my garment began, Kim approached me with the idea of creating a wide-legged pant paired with an exaggerated long-sleeve top. During our initial discussions, we were uncertain about the collar design. Originally, the top featured a high-neck long sleeve, but after some consideration, we decided to modify it to a boat neck with a V-back for a more dynamic and flattering look. We also scheduled a fitting, which went well—adjustments were made to take in the waist and hem for a more tailored fit. This collaborative process allowed us to refine the design, ensuring the garment was both stylish and well-constructed.

The photoshoot began at sunrise in the Swakopmund desert, where the five of us models used the stunning natural landscape of sand dunes and rocky terrain as our backdrop. The soft morning light created a beautiful, ethereal atmosphere that perfectly complemented the collection. We moved through various poses and scenes, capturing the garments in different settings within the desert, highlighting both the clothing and the raw beauty of the environment. After the photoshoot was completed, I took on the responsibility of editing all the images for the brand, refining them using Adobe Illustrator to ensure they were polished and aligned with the brand's vision.
